History

Cherubs’ was originally formed in April 2001.

Awards / Achievements

We are proud of our settings Ofsted Inspection outcomes with each of Cherubs 1 ,2, 3 & 4 receiving a ‘Good’ rating. Cherubs 1, 2, 3 & 4 have also achieved their second Quality Mark Accreditation awards.

It is our policy NOT to use photographs of children in our care on this website without the prior written consent of the parent / carer.

Staff

Staff members have been chosen for their experience, empathy for children and knowledge of Early Years Childcare and education, as well as qualifications. All staff members are trained in First Aid.

All staff member have to undergo rigorous employment checks such as references, Disclosure and Barring Service checks, full employment history, identity checks and so on and no unchecked person, student, volunteer, or individual ever has any unsupervised access to any child in our care.

Children's Development and Learning

The Statutory Guidance for Children’s Learning and Development (September 2008) brings together Birth to Three Matters and the Curriculum Guidance for the Early Years Foundation Stage (2014) (‘EYFS’) and our provision reflects the 4 key Themes and 16 Commitments of the EYFS. Children access this curriculum through 3 Prime and 4 Specific Areas as follows:

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Knowlege of the World
  • Expressive Art & Design

In additional to the EYFS, Cherubs arrange for various other activities, such as Bend & Stretch, Music, Dance, football skills class and visits from outside communities such as the Librarian and Community Police Officers.

Cherubs understand that children are active learners and do this best through play and experience. Our curriculum is tailored to each individual child’s achievements, next steps, interests and needs. Parents and carers are actively encouraged to be involved in their child’s development and learning and to share regular communication with the preschool.
